Steve left this world on May 31, 2026 at the age of 68, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Halsey Sr. and Dorthe Jensen; his daughter Brenda Marie; and his in-laws, Joy Saunders, Bob and Vicki Saunders.

He is survived by: his wife Lori Halsey; his children, Kelley Halsey (Ashley) of Blair, Lynn Stover (Derek) of Omaha, Keith Halsey (Chelie) of Fremont, Sheila Volpp (Al) of Tekamah and Heather Howat of Ohio; his grandchildren, Pyper, Ryker, Dylan, Ebanie of Colten, KJ, Cameron, Tyler of Parker, TJ, Thunder, Ashlee and Michael; his siblings, Pat Grover (Janace), Sean Grover, Jolene Boykin (Tim), Tami Brands (Ted), Kenny Halsey Jr. (Rosa) and Chris Jensen; and his siblings-in-law, Bob, Kelly Saunders of Council Bluffs, Stuart and Erin Saunders of Lincoln. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, 22 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and great nephews.

Following Steve's wishes, he was able to give others the gift of organ donation.
