He was predeceased by: his parents, Donavon Flanders and Ruby Flanders (Calhoon). He is survived by: his wife Jan Flanders of Bristow, NE; his children, Tanja Mitchell of Bellevue, NE, Yvonne Flanders of Bellevue, NE, Doug Hrbek (Ann) of West Point, NE, Brenda Hrbek of Sioux Falls, SD, Stephanie Mandel (Chris) of West Point, NE and Jason Hrbek (Christina) of Rapid City, SD; and his sisters, Bonnie O'Dell (John) of Springfield, MO, Karen Scharff (John) of Shelton, NE and Judy Burmood (Doran) of Shelton, NE. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
