Elinor Jean Dean Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elinor Jean Dean of Broken Bow, Nebraska, who passed away on July 23, 2022 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Vance Smith and Mabel Smith; and her siblings, Norma (Jimmy Hinson) and Bob Smith. She is survived by: her former husband Gene Vaughan; her husband Paul Dean, Jr.; her stepdaughter Susan Dean Bogema; her sister-in-law Margaret Smith; her sons, Gene Vaughan (Cate) of Mooresville, NC, Jerry Vaughan (Mary) of Lincoln, NE, Mark Vaughan (Thelma) of Statesville, NC and David Dean (Rebecca) of Dublin, OH; her stepson Steve Dean; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Wolf, Elizabeth Johnson (Ben), Ben Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan (Molly), Bryan Vaughan (Heidi) and Carson Vaughan (Melissa). She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to be given to the Broken Bow First Presbyterian Church, the Broken Bow Library Foundation and the Broken Bow Animal shelter.
