We bid farewell to Wayne Mills (Broken Bow, Nebraska), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 11, 2025 at the age of 99. Wayne touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Mills and Bertha Mills; his brothers, Harry, Dana and Ted; and his brothers-in-law, Lorell Brown and Gene Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Farrand (John), Jim Hartman and Shelly Amsberry (Gary); his wife Marvel Brown; his siblings, Sylvia Happold and Paul Mills; and his sisters-in-law, Ardyth Mills, Elaine Mills, Betty Church (Chuck) and Leona Williams (Gene). He is also survived by three children; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Govier Brothers Mortuary (542 S 9th Ave, Broken Bow, NE 68822). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Broken Bow United Methodist Church (1000 S 3rd Ave, Broken Bow, NE 68822). The military honors will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at the Westerville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Custer County Foundation in support of the Mills-Hartman Scholarship and the Westerville Cemetery.
