He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Hostert and Theresia Hostert (Hahn); his daughter Lori Hostert; his siblings, Lucille Hostert, Bernard Hostert, Hank Hostert and Len Hostert; his sisters-in-law, Jackie Hostert and Ruth Hostert; and his niece Anne Hostert.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Hostert of Butte, NE; his daughters, Julie Schuerman (Jeff) of Butte, NE and Connie Richardson (Matt) of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Jamie Hoyle (Derek), Jennifer Allen (Caleb Compton), Nathan Richardson (Heylee Shields) and Josh Richardson; his great grandchildren, Maddie Hoyle, Noah Hoyle and Ava Compton; his brothers, Gene Hostert of Butte, NE, Lou Hostert (Audrey) of Omaha, NE and Joe Hostert (Mary Jo) of Butte, NE; and his sister-in-law Norma Hostert of Butte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
