He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dickes and Gladys Dickes (Link); his wife Darlene Ann Pottebaum; and his siblings, Herbert Dickes, Loretta Parvu, Mildren Scott and Evelyn Schooley.
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Dailey (Mike) of Cheyenne, WY, Gary Dickes (Marilyn) of Kenosha, WI, Steve Dickes (Pat) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Judy Mouchawar (Maurice) of Broomfield, CO; and his grandchildren, Michael Dailey (Samantha), John Dailey, Jacob Clearfield (Rose), Mandy Germain (Chris), Katie Carlisle, Sarah Dickes, Jenny Reid (Tucker), Thomas Mouchawar and Molly Mouchawar. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51104). A Mass will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Epiphany (1000 Douglas St, Sioux City, IA 51105). A burial will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (2802 Casselman St, Sioux City, IA 51103).
