He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Kyes and Erma Kyes (Gleason); his siblings, Robert (Deloris Kyes), Dorla (LeRoy Schroeder), Marvin Kyes, Rosalie (Jerry Johnson), Larry Kyes and Dennis Moyer; and his nephew Aaron Kyes (Monte Kyes).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, Paula Opiela (Dan) of Lincoln, NE, Lee Kyes (Kris) of Lenexa, KS, Steve Kyes (Amy) of Central City and John Kyes of Columbus, NE.; his grandchildren, Jake, Luke Opiela, Olivia Kyes (Aisea Toki), Noah Kyes (Lani Gannon), Caleb, Ethan, Corbin Kyes, Lily Durden (Will) and Andrew Kyes; his stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Jackie Luebbe, Taylor, Brianna Luebbe, Carly and Carson Arnett; his sister Joan Moyer; and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Kyes.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Solt-Wagner Community Room.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later time.
