He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Fankhauser and Jean Fankhauser; his brother Donny Fankhauser; and his son Jeffrey Fankhauser. He is survived by: his wife Allie Fankhauser; his daughter Michelle Hunter (Coy) of Rapid City, SD; his brothers, Jim Fankhauser (Terry) of Black Hawk, SD, Larry Fankhauser (Rose) of Chadron, NE, Dan Fankhauser (Felicia) of Chadron, NE and Fred Fankhauser (Helen) of Waverly, NE; his grandchildren, Megan Whetham (Kurtis McMann), Jessica Whetham (Tayler Ringler), Zach Fankhauser (Rachel Sauser-Smith) and Travis Fankhauser (Adrianna Fawley); his great grandchildren, Addison Fritzler, Allison Fritzler, Ayden Young and Hunter McMann; his stepgrandchildren, Michaela Nixon, Kassy Swinney, Coy Hunter and Elizabeth Hunter; and his pet Olaf. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, eighteen great nieces and nephews; many beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Chamberlain Chapel for the addition of a memorial bench at the Alliance Veterans Cemetery in honor of Arnie and Jeffrey.
