He was predeceased by: his parents, Hyle Gatzemeyer and Ruth Gatzemeyer; and his brother-in-law Larry Matthesen. He is survived by: his sisters, Jean Matthesen and Judy Marchant; his niece Cindi Nielsen (Dale); and his great-nephews, Christopher John and Casey Neilsen (Katheryn "Taffy" Hayes).
