With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marlys Peterson (Chadron, Nebraska), born in Litchfield, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her father Boyd Morris Edward Nystrom; her husband Marsden Peterson (Marsden); her mother Anna Salmena Nystrom (Larson); her stepparents, Hazel Nystrom and Harold Martens; her sister Shirley; and her son Marshall.
She is survived by: her brothers, Bruce Nystrom, Calvin Nystrom and Lou "Butch" Mattsfield; her daughters, Marietta Peterson and Marleta Hastings (Todd); her grandchildren, Larissa White (Zac), Mikaela Stephenson (Tristan) and Moriah Schliep (Riley); and her niece Marlys. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
