He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Cech and Lillian Cech (Cernin); his parents-in-law, William and Katherine Pieper; his sisters, Ione Horst (Melvin), Margaret Groteluschen (Norris) and Elaine Asche (Eldon); his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Dennis (Bill), Dallan Pieper (Ruth), JoAnn McMullin (Russell), Elmer Pieper (Darlene) and Roger Pieper; his great grandchild Luella Goebel; and also Ruth.

He is survived by: his children, Kathrina McGuire (Steve) of Wisner, NE, Matt McGuire (Becky) and Lilly Ulrich (Dave) of West Point, NE; his granddaughter Teresa Goebel (Jack); his daughter Mary Kreikemeier (Randy) of North Bend, NE; his grandchildren, Brittnie Muller (Jerry), Nicole Pond (Dusty) and Jaki Kenney (Pete); his daughter Rachel Evers (Brian) of Denison, IA; his grandchildren, Devon Evers (Amanda), Alyssa Rihner (Marcus) and Dawson Evers; his daughter Janel Brune (Rod) of Columbus, NE; his grandson Brett Brune (Katelyn); his son Elden Cech (Angie Rosendale) of Lincoln, NE; his grandson Cory Rosendale Ethan Cech; and his sister-in-law Loretta Pieper. He is also survived by 27 Great Grandchildren, Numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Heun (1733 Rd 12, Clarkson, NE 68623). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
