With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara F. Van Dyke of Columbus, Nebraska, who passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benton Box and Bernice Box (Madden); her daughter Sandy Podliska; her in-laws, Clarence and Mary Van Dyke; her brothers, Tom Box and Leroy; her siblings-in-law, Eileen Hockemeier, Ray Briscoe and Jody Self; and her great grandchild Charli Podliska.
She is survived by: her husband Carroll of Columbus, Nebraska; her children, Gary Van Dyke (Ellen) of Milwaukee, WI, Randy Van Dyke (Cherie), Ken Van Dyke (Denise), Chris Van Dyke (Stephanie) and Becky Vrba (Steve); her sisters, Debbie Self of Shreveport, LA, Rhonda LeGrande (Luke) of Greenbrier, AR and Lynda Box of Pineville, LA.; and her grandchildren, Nathan Podliska (Kari), Ashley Smith (Derek), Abie Czapla (Craig), Jessica Groskopf (Jim), Nick Podliska (Amber), Rita Heinen (Ben), Eric Vrba (Betsy), Joseph Van Dyke, Jenna Banahan (Andy), Josh Van Dyke, Kayleigh Willson (Mike), Justin Van Dyke (Katie), Nicole Schiermann (Brent), Luke Van Dyke, Emma Van Dyke (Tyler) and Caleb Van Dyke.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1565 18th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
