Dwayne Smith Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dwayne Smith of Columbus, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 27, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia (Van Berg) of Valentine's Day; his parents, Glenn Smith and Luella Smith (Soulliere); his son Philip; his son-in-law Edwin Perkins; and his sister JoAnne Jonas (Smith).
He is survived by: his children, Rachel Perkins and Jason; his son-in-law Michael Kearns; his granddaughter Leah Perkins of Denver; and his siblings, David Smith (Pat) of Columbus and Karen Luhr (Smith) of Lincoln. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Platte County Food Pantry, the Platte County Historical Society, or the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation.
