He is survived by: his wife Mary Mielak of Columbus; his children, Jason Mielak of Yutan, Frank Mielak (Jamie) of Gretna, Aaron Mielak of Yutan, Nicole Walvoord (Jared) of Valley and Michael Mielak of Omaha; his grandchildren, Koda, Brinkley, Emerie, Elliett Mielak, Willow, Decker, Finley, Violet, Miles, Oakley and Piper Walvoord; his stepgrandson Jersey Houfek; his sisters, Jane Mielak of Columbus, Kay Runge (Art) of Duncan, Diane Langan (Cliff) of Columbus and Carol Biggs (Linn) of Georgetown, TX.; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Boyce (Mike) of Syracuse, Marcia Louis (Paul) of Columbus and Cindy Sacket (Pat) of Columbus.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McKown Funeral Home (2922 13th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1565 18th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601).
