He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Schafer and Mildred Schafer (Bannister); his former wife Carol Schafer; and his sister Shirley Darling. He is survived by: his children, Joel Schafer of Washington, D. C. and Michelle Britton of Cameron Park, California; his grandchildren, Cali Britton of Sacramento, Gabi Britton, Gerrod Britton of Puerto Rico, Geoff Britton (Alexa) of Omaha and Vivienne Schafer Kuan of Washington, D. C.; his sister Renelle Loshbaugh of Lincoln, Nebraska; and his girlfriend Lynne Kotrous of Columbus, Nebraska. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
