It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Schaefer of Columbus, Nebraska, who passed away on January 30, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Myllin Schaefer and Dorothy Schaefer; his brother Tommy Schaefer; his grandparents, Nick, Nellie Schaefer, Tony and Elsie Oberhauser; and his sister-in-law Lori Schrader.
He is survived by: his wife Arlee Schrader; his children, Nicole Everingham (Joe), Matthew Schaefer (Maggie) and Michael Schaefer (Shelby); his grandchildren, Kenzie, Ryan, Cade Everingham, Jack and George Schaefer; his brother Jerry Schaefer (Konnie); and his brothers-in-law, Mark Boche (Luann) and Dave Schrader.
In remembrance of Jim's life, the family asks that in lieu of flowers any charitable donations be made to Columbus Public Library or the Columbus Public Schools Foundation.
