He is survived by: his wife Carlene Preister; his daughters, Chelsea of Los Angeles and Carrie (Adam Kiehn) of Lincoln; his mother Marilyn Bartholomew; his siblings, Diane Kudron (Mark), Pat Brezina, Dick Bartholomew and Julie Bartholomew; his siblings-in-law, Lenny Preister (Miriam), Kenny Preister, Mary Birkel, Linda Davis (Jim) and Carol (Doug Chmelka); and his pet Xena. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Isidore Catholic Church (3921 20th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
