He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Johnson and Mary Ellen Johnson (Marsolek); his grandparents, Art, Minnie Johnson, Hank and Helen Marsolek; his parents-in-law, Don and Phyllis Keller; and his brothers-in-law, Leonard Coyle and Pete Rubalcaba.
He is survived by: his children, Ben, Desiree Johnson of Columbus, NE, Drew, Jill Johnson of Omaha, NE, Pam Johnson and Sammi Neiffer of Brookings, SD.; his grandchildren, Jed, Aysha, Diadra, Lucy Johnson, Evan, Wells, Lennon Johnson, Finn and Grace Bartlett; and his siblings, Celeste Michaud (J. P.), Carolyn Coyle and Chris Johnson (Kathy).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1565 18th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
