Robert Walgren Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Walgren of Columbus, Nebraska, who passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Walgren and Lucille Walgren (Scheidel); and his sister Betty Gattermeyer (Ray). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Walgren of Columbus, NE; his children, Chuck Walgren of Lincoln, NE, Sue Foreman (Peter) of Champaign, IL and Craig Walgren (DeLynn) of Milan, TN; his grandchildren, Christa Rosane, Zach Walgren, Nick Foreman, Stephanie Blandford, Alex Foreman, Aubrey Brannom, Maggie Walgren and Samuel Walgren; and his great grandchildren, Finley Rosane, Ramsay Walgren, Chaewon Foreman, Taejin Foreman, Jameson Walgren and Lynella Brannom.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (2710 14th St, Columbus, NE 68601).
Memorials are suggested to Higgins War Memorial at Pawnee Park or First United Methodist Church.
