Rodney leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rodney’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Rodney will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Sheldon and Vivian Sheldon; his sister Rosalie VanHeuveln; and his grandson Connor Lloyd Sheldon. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Sheldon of Columbus; his son Marty Sheldon; his grandchildren, Mikal Duncan of Cozad, NE, Hannah Thomas (Matt) of Orange, TX and Zachary Blahak of Fremont, NE; and his great grandchild Alana Thomas of Orange, TX.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McKown Funeral Home (2922 13th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (300 Hamilton St, Rising City, NE 68658).
