She was predeceased by: her parents, Cyrus Norris and Stella Norris (Cowgill); her husbands, Stewart Abel and Marvin Nelson; her sons, Infant and Danny Abel; and her siblings, Infant, Ray, Cecil Norris, Grace Norris, Gladys Felt, Fern Lyon and Hazel Boelts.
She is survived by: her sons, Roger Abel (Vicki) of Castle Rock, CO and Gary Abel of Larkspur, CO; and her stepchildren, Brian Nelson (Barb) of Rockford, IL, Brad Nelson (Shirley) of Columbus, NE and Joan Kunes (Paul) of Papillion, NE. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (2710 14th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A burial will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Central City Cemetery.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are encouraged to family's choice for future designation.
