He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Paul O'Brien and Betty O'Brien; his son Danny O'Brien; and his brothers, Jerry, Pat, John and Brien.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Lomax and Chelsea O'Brien; his grandchildren, Marissa Lomax, Keilee O'Brien, Jerzie Linneman and Kadence Linneman; and his brother Jim O'Brien of Spalding, Nebraska. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
