He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis J. Bentzinger and Rosa Bentzinger (Riensche); his son Gregory Alan; his sisters, Gayleen Eden and Eleanor Tehee; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Staack, Lavern Eden and Owen Tehee.
He is survived by: his wife Grace Seeba; his children, Monique Poldberg (Lance) of Lake Elsinore, CA, Denise Linder (Mike) of Lincoln, NE, Maribeth Hohenstein (Jeff) of Omaha, NE and Daniel Bentzinger (Annette) of Olathe, KS.; his grandchildren, Matthew Poldberg (Marta Palley), Jonathan Poldberg (Shelby Avol), Kara Christensen (Cole), Luke Linder (Anna), Amanda Stender (Tyler), Emily Hohenstein, Paxton Bentzinger (Jennelle), Alex Bentzinger and Jacob Bentzinger (Camille); and his sisters, Joan Staack and Margaret Damme. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home (644 Park St, Syracuse, NE 68446). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (306 N 1st St, Cook, NE 68329).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cook Rescue Squad, Cook Volunteer Fire Department, or the Cook Museum.
