She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar O. Oakley and Helen M. Oakley (Schwedes); her husband Eldon Cawthra; and her brother Robert Oakley. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Vergara of Cozad and Martin Cawthra (Heather) of Beatrice; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Fischer, Johnathan Johnston, Sabrina Sauer (Michael) and Tristan Cawthra; and her great grandchildren, Robert, Samuel (Cheyenne), Morgan (Noah) and Amber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
