She is survived by: her husband Dennis Isernhagen; her siblings, Judy Groves (Thomas) of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Art Sponsler (Nancy) of Louisville and Jeff Sponsler (Bonnie) of Sutherland, Virginia; her brother-in-law Jim Oleyar of Prince George, Virginia; her son Joel Isernhagen (Courtney); her grandchildren, Jamen, Emma and Ava; her son Jason Isernhagen (Amy); her grandsons, Brad and Sean; and her great grandchildren, Miley and Jackson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.
Her scholarly work was further recognized in 2013 when she received the Howard Dawson Outstanding Paper Award for the year's best research paper, honoring her significant contributions to educational research and the advancement of school improvement.
