He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Palik and Agnes Palik; his parents-in-law, Walter Nordmeyer, Larene Nordmeyer and Delores Nordmeyer; his pet Oscar; and his brothers-in-law, Gene Hladky, Neil West, Lynn West, Frank Lovell and Dennis Neville.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Nordmeyer of David City; his children, Kevin Palik of Omaha, Craig Palik (Megan) of Lincoln and Shelley Ilangikwa (Bob) of Aurora, CO; his grandchildren, Colette, Ryan Palik, Liam, Oden Palik, Julia and Joel Ilangikwa; his brother John Palik; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Hladky, Diane Lovell, Anita Neville, Leona Miller (Dan), Lola Young (Ralph), Phyllis West and Linda West. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and statues, memorials can be directed to the David City Tennis Association or Family Wishes.
