He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hintz and Lois Hintz (Rose); his in-laws, Norman and Maurine Hangman (Nelson); his brothers, LeRoy, Dale and Charles "Chuck"; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Hangman and Janice Hintz; and his nephews, Cecil Hintz and Ryan Hintz.
He is survived by: his wife Rozanne Hangman; his children, Suzy Gonzales (Brad), Brenda Surber and John Hintz (Katrina); his grandchildren, Scot Surber (Jessica), Tyler Surber, Alex Gonzales (Emma), Cortny Tyler (Luke), Megan Oswald (Colton), Lauren Gonzales, John Marcus Hintz, Jacob Hintz, Joshua Hintz and Jesse Hintz; his great grandchildren, Winston, Emery, Madelyn, Theodore, Ada Jane, Henry "Hank" and Clifford; his brother Ken Hintz (Cheri); and his brother-in-law Norman Alan Hangman.
