Ornitha Meiergerd Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ornitha Meiergerd of Dodge, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 12, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Doernemann and Lena Doernemann (Rhode); her husband Alex; her son Ken; her great grandchildren, Brynlee and Leah Vogel; and her siblings, Delores, Oringa, Wilfred, Gerald, Donald and Lambert.
She is survived by: her children, Doreen Vogel (Norbert) of Grand Island, Donna Meiergerd of Lincoln and Ronald of Omaha; her daughter-in-law Lori Meiergerd of West Point; her grandchildren, Kimberly Lafler (Ryan), Ryan Vogel (Sandra), Kevin Vogel and Janet Erives; and her great grandchildren, Madison, Barrett Vogel, Everly and Kellen Lafler.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church. A vigil service was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
