He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Brownlee and Zella Brownlee (Ferguson); his grandson Nolan Furtwangler; his great grandchild Isaiah Sheil; his brother Lamoine; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret and Wayne (Betty Hartman).

He is survived by: his wife Inez A. Hartman; his daughter Marcee Brownlee; his grandchildren, Jessica Sheil, Marc Sheil (Jordyn), Lyndsey Sheil, Haley Greggs (Chris), Jacob Furtwangler, Donalee Kennedy (Dan), Cindy Hartman, Jerry Hartman and Christie; his great grandchildren, Casey Doolan and Avianna Greggs; and his brother-in-law Merlin Hartman (Connie). He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children in Fremont or Rosehill Cemetery in Douglas.
