He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Jr. Meis and Adeline Meis (Friedel); his siblings, DeLoris Meis Jackson, Bill Meis and Jane Reed; and his children-in-law, Douglas Wilson and Pam Meis.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wilmot; and his children, Joan Meis Wilson of Bullhead City, AZ, Patricia Meis Friedrichsen (Jed) of Columbia, MO, Jim Meis (Anne) of Elgin, Joe Meis of Elgin and Lora Leathers (Paul) of Lyons, NE.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church - Elgin (301 S 2nd St, Elgin, NE 68636). A wake was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
