He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond A Payne and Thelma D. Payne (Cratty); his wife Cecelia Rose Thiele; his daughter Peg Merten; his sister Donna Payne; his friend Ursilla Stoltz; and his parents-in-law, Carl and Rose Thiele.
He is survived by : his children, Susan, Sue Mailhot (Jim) of Bellevue, NE, Pat Borer (Tim Anderson) of Neligh, NE, Connie Laginess (Alan) of Deerfield, MI and Ray Payne (Peggy) of Elgin, NE; his son-in-law Jeff "Hopper" Merten (Joni) of Albion, NE; and his grandchildren, Erin Whitesel (Brian), Ryan Borer (Corrine), Curtis Borer (Sara), Melanie Borer (Tim Stewart), Doug Borer (Lori), Chris Borer (Brooke), Shelby Bastien (Zach), Andy Laginess, Kix Payne (Cari Chavez) and Nickol Payne. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
