He was predeceased by : his parents, Irene Bettmann and Theodore Bettmann (Ted); and his sisters, Marla Jean Bettmann, Marilyn Baack and Myra Weier.

He is survived by : his wife Marcia Bettmann of Elkhorn; his children, Brent Bettmann (Amy) of Littleton, CO, Becky Swanson (Denver) of Arvada, CO and Brad Bettmann (Sarah) of Olathe, KS; his stepchildren, Robin Nelson (Brian) of Woodcliff, NE, Mindy Looney (Eric) of Novi, MI and Brian Highfill (Chanda) of Gretna, NE; his grandchildren, Hannah, Riley, Saylor, Brady, Maddie and Zetta; his stepgrandchildren, Trevor, Nathan, Takahiro, Nikko, Jaxon and Skylar; his siblings, Gary Bettmann of Fargo, ND, Kevin Bettmann (Janae) of Blaine, MN, David Bettmann (Robin) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marge Streitz (Steve) of Burleson, TX and Mary Arnholdt (Keith) of Columbus, IN; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Baack of Columbus, IN and Rod Weier of Watertown, SD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
