He was predeceased by : his parents, Byron L. Misterek and Louise Emilie Misterek (Debban); his stepson Steve Leroy; his wife Darlene Schwarz; his brother Dean; his siblings-in-law, Etta Misterek and Eldon Houlden; and his mother-in-law Doris Whiting.

He is survived by : his former life partner Maxine Dreher; his stepdaughters, Ann (Taun West), Shari Lynn (Jim Lueking), Brenda Mae (John Golter) and Judy Leigh (Rod Stagemeyer); his sister Delores; and his grandchildren, Jessica Dennis, Destinee Steinke, Trever Golter, Blair Golter, Skyler Golter, Cody Stagemeyer, Shelby Stagemeyer, Misty Bussinger, Steve White, Chris White, Bobby Hueftle, Noah Schwartz and Thomas Schwartz.
