He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper, Sr. Gentrup and Margaret Gentrup (Spenner); his daughter Patricia Dohrman; his siblings, Andrew Gentrup (Josephine), Cletus Gentrup, Casper Gentrup, Jr., Ambrose Gentrup, Veronica Vogel (Wilbert), Marie Schlickbernd (Joseph), Elizabeth Hagedorn (Raymond) and Margaret Ruskamp (Raynard); and his brother-in-law Larry Thiem.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Gentrup of Emerson, NE; his children, Julie Thompson (Bill) of Bemidji, MN, Cheryl Varnado (Keith) of Amite, LA, Daniel Gentrup (Lori) of Waterbury, NE and Allan Gentrup (Sarah) of Waterbury, NE; his grandchildren, Andrew Dohrman, Lindsay Viereck (Corey), Ted Dohrman (Stephen Halstead), Katherine Moodie (Travis), Abigail Hamilton (Gabriel), Hailie Thompson, Emily Thompson, Jordyn Gentrup, Cailin Anderson (Tim), Melanie Gentrup, Leighton Gentrup and McKenna Gentrup; his great grandchildren, Mads Viereck, Peri Viereck and Anderson; his sisters, Sister Carmelyn Gentrup and Bernadette Thiem; and his sister-in-law Marjorie Gentrup. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
