He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Rieker and Anna Rieker (Thumm); his wife Virginia Peterson Anderson; his sisters, Anita Fagot and Millie Stagemeyer; and his grandson Jared Buethe.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce Buethe (Terry), Bruce Rieker (Dawn), Arlyn Rieker (Susan) and Bryan Rieker; his grandchildren, Chris Buethe (Kim), Patty Fulton (Mike), Haley Landholm (Tyler), Kaitlyn Rieker, Jacob Rieker (Carsen), McKenna Rieker, Mitch Rieker (Jace), Addison Rieker, Aidan Rieker and Ashton Rieker; and his great grandchildren, Jaxin Buethe, Elijah Buethe and Noah Fulton.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (2002 27th St, Gothenburg, NE 69138). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Eustis East Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Eustis Senior Center.
