He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Velasquez; his grandparents, John, Martha Soliz, JC and Manuela Velasquez; and his pet Rocky.
He is survived by: his mother Teresa Velasquez Soliz; his sisters, Corina Hamlin (Jeff), Roxanne Smith (Tim), Elizabeth Nunns, Pamela Williams (Eric) and Patsy Beins (Jeff); his siblings' children, Teresa, Nanci, Jon Hamlin, Trevor Smith, Kelsey Fritsche, Jesse, Rian Nunns, Ashlyn, Aaron, AJ Beins, Curtis, Shane, Brady, Zachary Quick, Marley and Morgan Wettstead; and his brother Barry Wettstead (Jenna).
In place of flowers, memorial donations may be made to York General Hospital (Dialysis Center or in memory of) Joseph Velasquez. Contributions may also be made directly to the family for future designation.
