She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Gifford and Patricia Gifford (Thompson); her husband Jim; her in-laws, Kenneth and Emily Kahrs; her granddaughter April Schamp; her niece Dee Issacson; and her brothers-in-law, Elliott Nielsen, Delmer Meyer, Wendell Land and Terry Steinkruger.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Schamp (Gary), Angela Stokes (Mike), Michael Kahrs (Michelle) and Cody Anderson (Beth); her grandchildren, Bret Schamp (Athena), Jobey Stokes, Grant Kahrs (Makayla Johnson) and Delaney Stokes; her great grandchild Elsie Schamp; her siblings, Peg Land, Sheryl Bach (Wayne), Dennis Gifford and Mike Gifford (Michelle); and her siblings-in-law, Doug Kahrs (Betty), Bill Kahrs (Janea), Ruth Steinkruger, Judy Meyer Nielson and Sara Beth Dorn (Denny).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Franklin cancer patient's service in memory of Susan.
