He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Gerathewohl; his parents, Florence Goree (Meyer) and Chuck Goree; his siblings, Julene Zimmerman, Marlene Dukes, Dorothy Dobbins and Donald Goree; his grandparents, Amelia (Klussendorf) and H. C. Meyer; his aunt Mildred (Meyer); and his uncle Elmer Uehling.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Betkie (Bob), Janice Anderson (John) of Fremont, Joan Sparks (Tim) of Lincoln, Roger Goree (Rita) and Greg Goree (Candace) of Fremont; and his grandchildren, Mike Wittmann of Hickman, Nebraska, Katie Owen of Fremont, Ben Wittmann of Lincoln, Ryan Wittmann (Meagan) of Lincoln, Amy Moore (Scot) of Lincoln, Maggie Bergheim (Christian) of Lawton, Iowa and Richard Goree of Omaha. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
