Irene Goree Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Irene Goree (Fremont, Nebraska), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Irene left this world on November 19, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Gerathewohl and Emma Gerathewohl (Wagner); her grandmother Irene; her sister Evelyn (Merrill Snover); her aunt Anna Wagner; her parents-in-law, Florence (Meyer) and Chuck Goree; and her siblings-in-law, Julene Zimmerman, Marlene Dukes, Dorothy Dobbins and Don Goree.

She is survived by: her husband Gordon Leroy Goree; her children, Linda Betkie (Bob), Janice Anderson (John) of Fremont, Joan Sparks (Tim) of Lincoln, Roger Goree (Rita) and Greg Goree (Candy) of Fremont; and her grandchildren, Mike Wittmann of Hickman, Ben Wittmann, Ryan Wittmann (Meagan) of Lincoln, Katie Owen of Fremont, Amy Moore (Scot) of Lincoln, Maggie Bergheim (Christian) of Lawton and Richard Goree of Omaha. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moser Memorial Chapel (2170 N Somers Ave, Fremont, NE 68025).
