He was predeceased by: his parents, Albin Kavan and Mary Kavan (Pacl); his siblings, Albert (Agnes), Melvin Kavan (Dorothy), Irene Blatny (Ernie) and Delores Nitz (Jack); his great grandchild Lily Kavan; his siblings-in-law, Edward Swanda, William Swanda (Charlotte) and Darlene Maly (Leonard); and his parents-in-law, Mary and Cyril Swanda.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Limbach (Rick), Norm Jr. (Sandra), Randy (Edie) and Mark Kavan (Lin); his siblings, Nancy Williams (Jim) and Don Kavan (Karan); and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Swanda (Phyllis) and Marlene Linderman (Jim). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.
