He was predeceased by: his parents, Leeland Boettcher and Mosella Boettcher (Cross); his wife Sharon Boettcher; his siblings, Deanne Schmidt, Janet Boettcher and Darrell Boettcher; and his grandson Matthew Rains.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Linda Moore; and his children, Nikki Rains (Mike), Jennifer Wiseman (Jon) and Sean Boettcher. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
