He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Phillips and Margaret Phillips (Hergenroeder); his brothers, Marvin Phillips (JoAnn) and Melvin Phillips; his brothers-in-law, Leonard Evans and Bruce Knoell; and his nephew Roy Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Donette Knoell; his sons, Alan Phillips (Susan) and Shawn Phillips (Jennifer Prall); his sister Jean Evans; and his grandchildren, Cooper and Chloe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moser Memorial Chapel (2170 N Somers Ave, Fremont, NE 68025). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
