He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael "Rube" Geren and Della E. McGowan; and his siblings, Janice Gray (Jerry), Joseph (Judy) and Patrick (Jerel).
He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Johnson; his children, Michael Geren (Rebecca) and Marcella Steinhauer (Daniel); and his sister Mary Saggau (Paul) of Fremont. He is also survived by 2 children, many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary - Fremont (1249 E 23rd St, Fremont, NE 68025). A prayer was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary (1249 E 23rd St, Fremont, NE 68025). A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central City Cemetery.
