He was predeceased by: his parents, Werner Alvin and Freda Sophia Hellbusch (Badje); his sons, Todd and Thad; and his brother Richard Hellbusch (Donna Lou).
He is survived by: his wife Jan of Fullerton; his sons, Troy Hellbusch (Marianne) of Fullerton, Tom Hellbusch (Mary) of Fullerton and Tim Hellbusch (Jenny) of Belgrade; his grandchildren, Tessa Umstead (Keith), Taylor Rieken (KC), Sophie Carroll, Alissa Gates (Mario), Tawni Barrett (Jake), Tyson Hellbusch, Tori Winslow (Taj) and Ryan Hellbusch; his daughter-in-law Rita Hellbusch of Fullerton; his stepgranddaughters, Misty Evers and Brittany Mayer (Drew); his brother Robert Hellbusch (Alice) of Grand Island; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Evers (Glenda) and Jim Evers (Kate). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Nance County Veterans Museum, Peace Lutheran Cemetery, and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund.
