He was predeceased by: his father Lloyd Straight; his mother-in-law Phyllis Schroeder (Brinkmeyer); his siblings-in-law, Rodney Wiese and Laura Straight (Blenderman); and his nephew Richard Kyle Straight.

He is survived by: his wife Jenise Lynee Schroeder of Paul's Lutheran Church; his sons, Conley Straight and Cody Straight; his mother Shirley "Pat" Straight; his brothers, Rick Straight and Don Straight (Tammy); his father-in-law Harlan Schroeder; and his sisters-in-law, Candace Heindryckx (Greg) and Cindy Wiese. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a multitude of extended family.
