Mary B. Bruning Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary B. Bruning (Geneva, Nebraska), who passed away on October 5, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Paul Reiss; her husband Frank; her mother Amy Reiss Lapcheska (Babka); her stepfather Dick Lapcheska; her brother Dr. Walter E. Reiss; her sister-in-law Carol Reiss; her parents-in-law, Marjorie, Buzz Dalton, Herb and Lila Bruning; her son-in-law Dr. Thomas F. Tonniges; her nephew Thomas Bruning; and her niece Susan Reiss.

She is survived by: her brothers, Walter Edward and Walt; her cousins, Ed, Leonard Babka and Lucy Kerl; her children, Jane Tonniges of Omaha and Fred D. Bruning (Penni) of Bruning; and her grandchildren, Christopher Tonniges (Lindsey), Emily Tonniges of Omaha, Adam Bruning (Carley) of Heb, Abby Bruning (Nick Branting) of Bend, Elizabeth Tonniges (Jesse Bergman) of Lincoln and Reiss Bruning (Heather) of Bruning. She is also survived by many loving family members, friends.

She was always a strong supporter of area 4-H, the Bruning Com-munity Foundation and served on the Village Board.
