He is survived by: his sons, Tim Backman of Genoa and Todd Backman (Lisa) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Kendall Roewert (Tyler) of Columbus, Callie Backman of Monroe, Lucas Backman (Taylor) of Omaha, Kaden Backman and Cael Backman of Monroe; his great grandchildren, Ryloh, Kruz and Indie Roewert; his sister Phyllis Mickey of Fremont; and his brothers-in-law, Don Wruble of Sparta and Wayne Wruble (Nancy) of Chandler, Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
