With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Mark Nielsen in Gering, Nebraska, who passed away on January 21, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Richard's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Nielsen and Eunice Nielsen. He is survived by: his wife Cheryse; and his children, Andrew (Jennifer), Andrea, Gabriel (Jasmine), Michael, Jasen and Ashleigh. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the missionary department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
