She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice M. Van Kirk and Lucille Maxine Van Kirk (Guthrie); her husband Dick Blaha; and her brother-in-law Bill Cushing. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Blaha (Janie) of Mitchell, NE, Connie Rupp (Doug) of Norfolk, NE and Kim Gilliam (Alan) of Madison, MS; her sister Mary Cushing of Pine Bluffs, WY; her grandchildren, Tom Blaha (Braelyn) of Scottsbluff, Jacob Blaha (Shay) of Gering, David Rupp of Scottsbluff, Alexis Rupp of Scottsbluff, Calin Skudlarek (Ashton) of Jacksonville, FL, Isabella Borgos of O'ahu and Anthony Borgos of Madison, MS; her great grandchildren, Freya Blaha, Traven Jackson of Scottsbluff, Jude, Luke, Violet Blaha of Gering, Hunter Ash of Scottsbluff, Jacob and Everett Skudlarek of Jacksonville, FL; and her friends, Jack, Shar Medearis and Melvin Bernhardt. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Reverence Funeral Parlor (2002 Char Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Sherry's honor be made to the Panhandle Humane Society on behalf of her beloved companion, Ginger.
