We announce the death of Eugene Giger of Gibbon, Nebraska, who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Eugene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Giger and Amelia Giger (Kulek). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Giger; his children, Jeff Giger (Marie), Desirea Giger, Danielle Castaneda, Tom Giger (Elisha), Sara Scadden (Dennis) and Deidra Gidcumb (Justin Harmon); his grandchildren, Devon, Deshawn, Angel, Nikiya, Tantashea, Amador, Bryan, Bricia, Shakiysha, Yahyda, Trenten, Lain, Cadence, Trae, Brayden, Levi, Emersyn and Tristan; his great grandchildren, Paeson, Jordon Jacoby, Carli, Janiya, Claire, Carson, Zamilah, Zyaire, Eligio, Callie, Amyriion, Conor, Niarra, Callen, Zacora, Akarii and Kior; and his siblings, Betty Gehre, Irene Hagen, Mary Mattson (Rod), Josie Giger and Charles Giger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Gibbon Baptist Church (705 Court St, Gibbon, NE 68840-6228).
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
